In case a finisher doesn’t venture downstairs….

Installed a pine T&G wall running horizontally in a public building.
Mrs G is going to finish it today after I tell her what to use.
No stain.
Only available source for finish is local HD.

The question is will a Water-based poly need a seal-coat?
I know pine can blotch, but if there’s no stain—only a clear WB Poly—is blotching a concern?

I put it in my shop. I just rolled it on and used a brush in the grooves. I found end grain areas around knots can soak up the finish, so several coats will be necessary.

Blotching wouldn't be an issue.

This was completed before any responses.
It worked fine w/o sealing. No blotches.
