Got the idea for this from two different videos. "Decorative mason jar lids" by Ron Brown and "15 minute project, honey dipper" by Tim Yoder. Did a search and didn't find anything exactly like it so I made a couple and shot some video. Great beginner project and functional too.

Mason Jar Honey Dipper
Nice work.

One of my Christmas "remembrance" gift rotation is jars with turned lids filled with Christmas candy. Always well-received. If you decide not to hollow and glue the twist lid, make a groove on the tenon and install hydraulic O rings to seal and retain.
great idea
I like it.

Does the metal lid come out of the wooden lid when you need to clean it?

It's actually plastic and it does not. With that said, honey doesn't spoil or go rancid. Wiping it out with a damp cloth is sufficient.

Very nice. I have made some for the ladies at church by using their Jelly and Peanut butter glass jars but not a Honey dipper one.

Nice selection of wood to.
