build alongs of others projects.

So if anyone is doing or starting one please bless us with the how's you are doing your work. Yes
Hi Arlin,

I am guilty of the "tool vortex."   With limited shop time, restoring and flipping old tools happens more often than actual woodworking projects.

But once in a while I generate some gift items.   Here is one I did in December:

This was my latest hand-cut dovetail attempt.

I like those dovetails.  What is that tube like stuff?
Also it looks like the lid is Zebrawood correct or what else could it be.

Arlin,
I have a small stash of Kentucky Coffeetree wood for little boxes and such.  Some of it looks a lot like Zebrawood.   Here is a machinist-chest front panel insert made from that same stash, bookmatched:
I will have to find some sometime.  It looks really nice too.
Arlin, here is a build along I did a long time ago. My plan was to continue doing them but I have just been too overwhelmed with work to document my builds. Maybe someday things will slow down enough that I can do another one. I also did a build along for a bonnet top highboy on here a long time ago but I'm sure it is gone by now. I will see if I can dig up the file and email it to you.

Not a build along, I forgot to take pictures. I made this chisel rack today. Cherry, obviously, with borg pine as the spacers. Pretty happy with how it came out, but the 1/2 chisel sits a little low because that slot is a bit wider front to back than the others. Oh well.

A couple of treatments of the half-blind dovetail in this small wall cabinet:[Image: IMG_0590_zpsr37ni8ot.jpg]
A new chop for an old Sheldon quick set vise. More of an exercise in using spokeshaves than a really needed project... made out of long leaf pine heartwood, old, hard and brittle. Made me realize that a few carving tools might be in order, have no clue which ones....
