Some more Christmas presents ,
about 11" tall  Walnut and Apricot.
the Apricot was dead standing for 4 years . about 12" across and 24" tall until it forked , extremely heavy. Big eek Big eek .  I got 4,  4" square blocks about 24" long out of the stump.
Apricot turns great Yes

Did you use a pattern to match the form, or did you just eyeball it?

Dusty I use Calipers ,dividers and eyeball.
I really like that apricot. My parents have a pear stump that I've been meaning to go get. My mom has told me more than once she wants it cut off. I don't know if it's still any good though.
Beautiful set.

FWIW, most fruit wood turns easily but not all of it is interesting.
Peach, apple, and cherry all turn easily, but a lot of it has blah grain to it.
Those are great.  The apricot is especially nice.
