In need of and planning to purchase a rotating 3 jaw chuck with a Morse #2 taper for my lathe. 

Any first-hand experience and recommendations?

I could never recommend a three jaw chuck to a wood turner for turning wood. You want and need a 4 jaw scroll chuck article gives some highlights as to why.

Do you have any idea what size is your spindle and number of teeth per inch? Normally 1” x 8 TPI or 1 1/4” x 8 TPI. What is the swing of your lathe or is mini, midi, or full size? Some scroll chucks come direct threaded to fit your lathe spindle others require you to buy a thread adapter. The smaller the lathe the lighter and smaller four jaw chuck larger lathe bigger & heavier chuck you need.

Using NOVA brand of chuck key operated chuck but just about and brand will have tis style or tommy bar operation.

There too many 4 jaw inexpensive to expensive makers to list all brands.

MT #2 suggests you want a drill chuck.  Cheapest are keyed, which is fine for work short of production pace. https://www.homedepot.com/p/NOVA-1-2-in-...&gclsrc=ds

You can spend more, but it won't do much better.  I prefer to bore holes from the tail, which the one above will also do.

I read you post to mean want a chuck like these, again would advise against them!

If you mean drill chuck Michael Mouse is right can fit head/tail stock and don't cost much and most turners use the tailstock for drilling. Only time I use my drill chuck in the headstock is for drilling tool handles.

Original Poster here.  My apology for being slightly unclear about my request.

I am looking to purchase and install a 3 jaw rotating chuck in the TAIL-STOCK end. 

I own and have used a 6" 3-jaw in the head-stock for many projects and my larger lath does have a more traditional 4-jaw chuck. 

Now thinking deeper thanks to some responses here is a 4 chuck available for the tail-stock? Obviously must be able to rotate.

No experience with either, Grizzly has a Three for 23.50 cheep enough to try.

Teknatool (Nova) has an adapter with a MT2 male on one end that fits the tailstock or their live center and a 1-1/4" - 8 thread on the other. This is the same thread as their full size headstock spindles. Any chuck that can be adapted to 1-1/4-8 will work.

I just had another thought. Do you really want a 3-jaw chuck like on a metal lathe, a 4-jaw chuck like on a wood lathe, or a Jacobs chuck like on a drill press?

If you want a drill chuck, congratulations. You got it.
If you want a metal lathe chuck, it looks like you'll have to go to some metal-working sources.
If you want a wood lathe chuck, keep reading.

Last night (actually early this morning), I realized I already had parts to do what you asked. It uses a Nova live center that accepts a MT2 taper, a 5/8" to MT2 shaft, a 5/8" chuck insert, and a chuck. I have this stuff to be able to swap things between my Shopsmith and Nova Galaxi lathes. I just hadn't put them together in this order before.

The only difference between this and the adapter I mentioned a few posts ago is that this uses a 5/8" shaft and the other one uses a 1-1/4" thread.

If you want something shorter, Oneway makes a live center with a MT2 for the tailstock and a 3/4" male thread on the other end. Get the chuck you want with a 3/4" insert and you're ready. to go.

Now you have me wondering, so I looked around some more. Littlemachineshop.com has an adapter from a MT2 tailstock to their 3" metal chuck.
