Used autosol and aluminum foil on a rusty pitted axe blade last night. Only gave it a couple of minutes on each side and it sure took off a ton of nasty brown stuff. It'll never get shiny, but thought this might be a good solution for cleaning grimy rusty tools. May have been more effective if I washed the grime off with Simple Green before using the foil.

By the way, we need a name for the technique of using metal polish with aluminum foil. I'm not creative enough. Foilishing? Pfoiling?

Steve

Well, we have "Scary Sharp", so why not "Blindingly Bright"?

Wouldn't we need Alf's permission for that?

A small fee for every usage would work for me.

No? Pah. Foiled again.

Years ago when I watched the baseball movie "The Natural" starring Robert Redford, Redfors told his batbgoy to go get a particular bat--becauuse it had been "boned". I didn't know what that phrase meant at the time, but I have since learned that it meant that somebody had rubbed the bat with a bone to compress the fibers---thus making it harder---thus resulting it a better hit.

So, "Foiled" seems to fit.

"This saw has been "Foiled"

This saw was it bad shaped. But after a good "Foiling" just looked at it now.

Honey, I'm going to spend the night in the shop "Foiling".

I foiled this saw years ago and it tarnished up again, so I did it again, Yes, this saw has been "Foiled Again".

Hey Jack, you'll recognize this reference:

"FIRE FOR EFFECT!"

now you can use,

"FOILED FOR EFFECT!"
