Finishing up the toddler bed piece for grandson's bed.  Crib previously delivered, but the way he's growing he's gonna need that crib converted into a toddler bed sooner rather than later.  Plans are the Wood Mag 3-in-1 crib/toddler/fullsize bed from early 2000's...

Are the slats individually mortised or set in a groove?

Set in a groove, so "fake" mortices.

There is one exception.  The slat on the open end (farthest from the camera) is set in a mortice; it's structural, so it needs that extra strength.

Just finished two serving trays from WOOD magazine issue 188. Lumber was milled from walnut logs I have stored for 20+ years.

 Several new picture frames; fresh off the bench and onto the walls.
One from real Mahogany and three from Florida Cypress having slip feathers in the miters.

Miters look good on those frames.  Are you using a jig of some sort?
