Re: Neat chair.... Gonna lose a friend, maybe - gjohn - 06-25-2016 That is the stability model for over-protective parents. The tripod design. Re: Neat chair.... Gonna lose a friend, maybe - DonJuvet - 06-26-2016 Maybe I forgot to mention......Flip it over and it's a slide Re: Neat chair.... Gonna lose a friend, maybe - photobug - 06-26-2016 Do these come in big kid sizes or is the design just suited for kids chairs? Re: Neat chair.... Gonna lose a friend, maybe - DonJuvet - 06-27-2016 I have been asked to scale it up to a larger size. No big deal to do it. Want to try and sell as is. Don't want to do custom though, people don't really see it as much of a value and expect it to only cost a tiny bit more. ALSO....... Update. I have found many people that instantly recognized them as something their father or relative made alot of. So, not too worried about the upset friend. She can go back to her lurking and send her husband if she likes. whatev I am gong to modify the shape of the sides though. Make them more organic. Kidney Beanish almost kinda Re: Neat chair.... Gonna lose a friend, maybe - Cecil - 06-27-2016 If I recall, popular mechanics used to have weekend plywood projects. Looks like it could be one of those. Re: Neat chair.... Gonna lose a friend, maybe - ruffcutt - 06-28-2016 Give your friend a royalty for each one you sell. Although I doubt you'll sell a bunch at 650. Re: Neat chair.... Gonna lose a friend, maybe - DonJuvet - 06-29-2016 Did anyone questioning the $650 price really read it? OR Did I state it wrong? Out of hardwood you need about 12bft of wood. I NICE wood (walnut...) You are at 75-100 worth of wood. Then, join, glue, plane, machine, sand, edge detail, sand, finish... I mean really. If you want to make money 25-30 bucks an hour won't cover a shop trying to stay in business. ALSO.... I didn't say I wanted to sell them in hardwood. My plan is to get them out there to the people that want one for their littles without having Uncle Joe build one. Not everyone has one of those. Did you see the part I want to make these out of BB Ply for $95 unfinished and $155 finished? Re: Neat chair.... Gonna lose a friend, maybe - DonJuvet - 06-29-2016 No. You can only charge what yer ol uncle charged to compete with china. RE: Neat chair.... Gonna lose a friend, maybe - iclark - 07-02-2017 My great-nephew just turned 1yo. Would you consider selling a copy of the plans? I especially like the slide feature. I promise not to compete commercially. |
