RE: Tiny house - daddo - 12-09-2016 I'm getting the fever now. Where's my pack? RE: Tiny house - MikeBob - 12-09-2016 A few years ago I was thinking of getting a PU and a 5th wheel trailer with bump outs to live in full time. North in the summer and South in the winter for a short bit. Most sellers told me not made to live in full time closed up do to humidity, moisture unless in the south and the AC on. Not made to live in the North in the winter. RE: Tiny house - MsNomer - 12-10-2016 Duh. You go where the weather is good. RE: Tiny house - Pirate - 12-15-2016 Spending $94,000 on a 200 sf house on wheels, sounds like a great way to loose $50,000+ in a few years, when you sell it, if you can. The marine and travel trailer industry has really neat latches to accomplish that. Here is one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4hVqZGfzEs RE: Tiny house - MsNomer - 12-15-2016 I am familiar with that latch and now have it on the large drawer under the fridge to the right, but it wouldn't work for these drawers. All cabinetry is frameless to maximize storage volume, so there's no convenient place for a keeper. For the one latch I installed, I dug a hole into the board below as a keeper, and I could do the same for the two bottom drawers under the bed, but the "drawer stick" works so well, there's no need. It attaches with an automotive seatbelt and stores by the steering wheel as a reminder to "buckle up" before driving off. It also restrains the two pull-out tables just below the bed. |
