RE: Millers Falls equiv's for Thick-Cast Stanley Smoothers - C. in Indy - 01-16-2017 Hi Skip, No, these are factory stock, just a little Feed-n-Wax added on them. I think that plane frustrated the original owner enough that it never got used much. It took some fiddling to make it work like I wanted ![]() Chris RE: Millers Falls equiv's for Thick-Cast Stanley Smoothers - Skip J. - 01-17-2017 (01-16-2017, 05:02 PM)C. in Indy Wrote: Hi Skip, Thanks for the reply Chris; I may strip my 3 Craftsman totes down and see what is under all that mess... The #5 size one's tote is covered with paint drips... The only red parts are the frogs and they're not shiny. I could repaint the black areas but they are in pretty good shape already.. No fiddling required to put'em to work... Yours sure does look good! RE: Millers Falls equiv's for Thick-Cast Stanley Smoothers - EricU - 01-17-2017 Most interesting surprise I got stripping a tote and knob was on a record #3, the tote was walnut and the knob was beech. That explains why the finish was so thick that I felt compelled to strip it, because before I started they were the same color. Pretty good feat. |
