I ordered bent wood blanks and finished them myself.  They were too cheap to try to make on my own.  I think I bought four for $40.00.

They are $11.00 each now.   Steam bent from ash.  1" stock.  Very  robust, but more utilitarian than decorative.  But a nice stain and finish make it very presentable.  I added rubber tips from a crutch.

I worked on the cane this morning, and shaped the tip using strips of 80 grit sandpaper for the final fitting.

Sanded the entire cane with 120 and 220, then chose Watco Medium Walnut Oil Stain.  Dark enough, but not too dark for the Spaulted Maple.

She is done.... and I will apply three coats of British Beeswax...
