RE: walking cane - Cooler - 01-15-2018 I ordered bent wood blanks and finished them myself. They were too cheap to try to make on my own. I think I bought four for $40.00. They are $11.00 each now. Steam bent from ash. 1" stock. Very robust, but more utilitarian than decorative. But a nice stain and finish make it very presentable. [attachment=7271] Sanded the entire cane with 120 and 220, then chose Watco Medium Walnut Oil Stain. Dark enough, but not too dark for the Spaulted Maple.
