The one that failed is the drive drum. The driven (adjustable) drum still has its sleeve, but it's not long in this world, though. I'll keep the drive drum flat, and when the other goes, I'll crown it.

Had a thought....
Uhoh  They used to make a product that you could dip your plier handles into.
Gave you grip, plus insulation from shock.

Rubber............somethin or another.......
