RE: Drill Press Fence? - Cian - 05-14-2019 A couple DP table construction tips (1) Offset the table so that your chuck centerline is NOT dead center in your table's backer insert. This way, all you need to do is rotate the insert to get a fresh surface behind your bit, and you can even flip it over for more unused surfaces. (2) Build a shelf that goes between your new table and your DP's original metal table. This provides a lifted offset so that your DP's elevation crank arm is not obstructed by your new bigger table surface plus it allows for a storage area for your often used tools or bits. (3) A vacuum attachment is very convenient. RE: Drill Press Fence? - jgourlay - 05-15-2019 Thanks all! Very helpful and exactly what I needed! |
