I was studying various elaborate ways to avoid rotting out the wood bottoms, and was not happy with any of them, especially when you consider that a 7 foot planter box is probably going to be in place for a long time. The PVC is an instant and permanent solution. All I have to do is drill holes in it. I plan to cover the bottoms with about 2" of rubber mulch to keep the dirt from dribbling out. Take care, Russ |
