If you're making a box/drawer with full dovetails, and you want to accommodate stopped grooves inside, the rabbeting trick is great.

Thank you for that piece of information. I am just thinking here, that would hid the grooves but it would change the length of the pin board. I am just considering through dovetails with an applied front but it would work without an applied front if one wanted to use part of the dovetails as a focal point. I will have to play with this idea. Probably would have never considered it on my own.
