RE: I'm a scroll saw convert! - John Mihich - 12-30-2020 I use mine a lot. Of course it will depend on what you make. Even for things that I might use a BS for I get my SS out (well it's always ready to go). I just made some push sticks - went the SS first. A bit slower but nice smooth cuts. RE: I'm a scroll saw convert! - ®smpr_fi_mac® - 01-02-2021 A Hegner just came up locally on Facebook Marketplace for $500. So tempting after reading this thread. RE: I'm a scroll saw convert! - kwadams - 01-02-2021 I just had a Hegner come up (1996 model, but looked brand new), but asking price of $800 seemed a little high. I would jump at a nice one at $500, presuming it’s at least the 18” model. I’ll keep looking! Thanks. Dunno whether it's multiple speeds. I was considering that one also, but one came up on Craigs New Years Day and I bought it,,It was local...A DeWalt DW788, Made in Canada...nice condition with a ton of blades , books and patterns for $250.00 RE: I'm a scroll saw convert! - Bill Wilson - 01-05-2021 (01-05-2021, 08:45 AM)Timberwolf Wrote: ................. Sounds like a nice deal. Check out the series of maintenance/repair videos by Bob Brokaw. I've never watched them, but they come highly recommended on the scroll saw forums. One of the common issues with the Dewalt is wear on the bearings/bushings on the upper & lower blade arms & rear pivot points. This causes problems with knocking and vibration. I think these videos show you how to maintain and/or replace these bearings & bushings and make the saw run smoothly again. RE: I'm a scroll saw convert! - Admiral - 01-05-2021 This just popped up on NJ Craigslist: https://cnj.craigslist.org/tls/d/lebanon-14-hegner-multimax-scroll-saw/7244047460.html RE: I'm a scroll saw convert! - Timberwolf - 01-05-2021 (01-05-2021, 04:00 PM)Bill Wilson Wrote: Sounds like a nice deal..............................
