RE: New Dinette Table for Daughter, Son in Law, and new Grandson - Bill_de - 08-29-2024 Very nice! They should get a lot of use out of it! -- RE: New Dinette Table for Daughter, Son in Law, and new Grandson - Mike 55 - 08-30-2024 (08-25-2024, 12:04 PM)lscraig Wrote: My daughter, son in law, moved into their house. They needed a dining table for their house. Green is her favorite color. The table is 100% furniture grade white pine. Table tops and bench tops are 1 1/8" thick. I had some 12mm birch plywood, so that's what I made the drawer out of. The ply worked OK with the half blinds. Not my favorite look, but the drawer is meant for napkins, so it's light duty. Nice job. Great idea buying the legs. I don't have the skill to turn one, let alone 4. Love the finish too! Won't do it that way again. I ran out of drawer stock and didn't think it would be too bad. I normally use poplar or other paint grade materials for drawer boxes. They are HBDT's, but I still didn't really like the look. There will be no effect on function, and my kids didn't even notice.
