I am a 47 year old and married. I have a 26 year old daughter who is married and 2 1/2 years ago gave me my first granddaughter. Then 3 1/2 years ago my present wife and I adopted our son, Matt (he was less than two when he was helping me sand that pen on the lathe in the picture that is my avatar) he loves the "chop" and the saw dust in the shop. I am having a blast. now I need to upgrade my band saw and get a dust collector. I can see a trip to springfield in the very near future. I'm getting together a set of tools to give it a try. It has always intrigued me so I'm sure I keep doing it even if it doesn't become my obsession. One thing that interests me about it is it is not all that loud of a thing to do. I do woodworking stuff outside and often late at night so I have to be cautious about what I do.
