We had to run it to help clear out smoke one day, when the electric bill came it was unbelievable. Leave it run 24/7? No way.

We run ours 24/7 and our bill went up a minimal amount. The blower on a furnace shouldn't be a big draw.

How old is the house? Was it built in the '50's-'60's? Could be the ducts are undersized by modern standards.

What about "booster fans" in the ducts to help move the air?

My thought is you don't have enough return from the corners which was fine when the house was built -- they wanted the bedrooms cooler.

Till tha radiators cool, turn heating off. Now switch heating back and go to first radiator. Turn the lockshield valve till it is closed(clockwise), then open by a quarter of  aturn. Note down the temperature reading at pipe to the valves. Similarly for the other valve. The more you move away from the boiler the lockshield valave will ahve to be opened more. Now your radiator should be balanced
