RE: Who are you - sawdust703 - 11-03-2017

my name is Brad. (sawdust703) I've been turnin' three years, but still a greehorn & still learnin'. I'm self taught, like the rest of my wood workin' skills. I've read books, watched videos, read more books, & finally did it.

I'm a scroll sawyer for the most part, but there isn't anything wood working I'm not able to do. I've been wood workin' 26 years this year. 25 years on the scroll saw. I take pride in being self taught, considering I'd never been around anything to do with wood. I'm a retired OTR truck driver of 35 years. I'm still in my learnin' britches, so I may ask some perty crazy questions at times. Thanks for keepin' this thread goin'.

Bill Palmer, call me anything but late for lunch. I've been a turning furniture maker for a few years...40+ but still feel I need  guidance. Turning is such a multi faceted endeavour. Currently I'm trying to understand the two person salad bowl, nothing fancy, just real.

Bald Trace is Steve Tracey. Retired Chief Instructor of Architectural Engineering Technology and Tool and Die Engineering Technology. Also, retired Air Force Officer and retired Business owner operator. darn, I'm really tired. I have had my big lathe for 40 years, the small (midi) lathe was a Christmas gift about 3-4 years ago.

Hello, my name is Earl. Started turning pens a few years ago, and have now done a few bottle stoppers, honey dippers, small bowls, etc. Just looking to step up what i do and especially better learn how to do it.
