I won`t get into the carving part, but the DT`s do make me chuckle. I think tails versus pins is as close as woodworkers come to becoming Hatfields, and McCoys.

Dave yours is looking, well kinda like we all imagined it might look at this point in the construction, nearly complete How long into it to get the carcase, and foot carvings that far? 6 hours?

It seems you're wearing a skirt in the shop, too. Must have become a habit.

I think I said it before, but I admire your jaunt into such a challenging project. So is this your project for the fundraiser for next year?

for the bad pun

Thank you.

No... this is the first thing (not shop related) that I have ever made for myself.

I agree 100%. I was surprised to see Dave's shop so free of gizmos, gadgets, and widgets. IMHO after visiting Dave his thinking is on the lines of: Buy the best tools you can afford, keep it simple, and learn to use each tool well. At least that was my impression and take-away.

I've seen some pictures of his past projects. Does he have shop pics up somewhere for us wrong-coaster voyeurs?

Peter

Have you had anymore time working on your project?

I can not wait to see more.
