A very gifted Lady. Watching the video I'm left wondering what part of the collaboration that Scott DeWaard brings to the piece? Looks like a few times a year that Sabhia is available with classes at Highland Woodworking. Nice post Gary, Thanks.

After all the work that went into the clay was was surprised to find out that was just a template....

Beautiful work and very gifted people. The video was very well done.

My only thing - I would have left it natural wood.

I believe Scott did the casework that supports the carving.

Interesting combination of power tools and hand carving. I too, wish the piece was left natural, but I think a lot of the carving was basswood, which doesn't necessarily look all that great au natural. In some of the churches I saw in Germany, I rarely, if ever, saw any wood carvings painted or gilded. Mostly mahogany or walnut.
