Something From the Yard - gizmo - 08-11-2015 It's been a few years since I posted anything, but here it is. I salvaged a red oak stump from our yard and made it into this bottle rack. The bottle stops are welded angle iron pieces screwed to the back. Re: Something From the Yard - atgcpaul - 08-11-2015 Ok, you just can't post something like that and not explain how you did it? How'd you drill holes that big? Wine bottle sized hole saw or are these mini bottles? BTW, pretty cool. Re: Something From the Yard - gizmo - 08-11-2015 The bottles are standard wine bottles. The holes were drilled with a very large and very expensive forstener bit. The finish is aniline dye and Tung oil. Re: Something From the Yard - BacsiBob - 08-12-2015 Very clever and very well executed. Re: Something From the Yard - DaveParkis - 08-12-2015 Very cool. Re: Something From the Yard - GeorgeV - 08-12-2015 Must have been an expensive bit.....there is only one bottle of wine????? Re: Something From the Yard - Superglide - 08-12-2015 What a great vision!!! But yea, only one wine bottle? And none with metal screw on caps? Re: Something From the Yard - gizmo - 08-12-2015 At least its not a rack for box wine Re: Something From the Yard - Dennis Puskar - 08-12-2015 Real nice. Re: Something From the Yard - John Mihich - 08-13-2015 I like it. I can see people wanting one of those. My daughter wants me to build a wine rank for her. She would love that. Just needs a few more holes for her. I can see one that sits on the floor also. |
