CA glue question - Angus - 09-09-2015 Sorry folks, I know it's been asked before but I lost a lot of my bookmarks. What's the preferred source for CA glue? Re: CA glue question - Steve K - 09-09-2015 I use starbond. The biggest reason is our club orders it a couple times a year and we order enough it ships free. Still, even with shipping it's a good product and reasonably priced. They also have a big selection in viscosity and color choices. Re: CA glue question - Arlin Eastman - 09-09-2015 Yep Steve has it right and it only cost $30 for a 16oz bottle and they send you 4 smaller bottles to fill and the thin drip nozzles too. http://www.starbond.com/ You have to call to order since they do not sell it on their site. Good to hear from you again my friend. Arlin Re: CA glue question - Angus - 09-09-2015 Thanks guys, I hadn't considered it before but that black CA is going to make my life a whole lot easier Re: CA glue question - Woodshop - 09-10-2015 I still use the E-Z Bond Wooden wonders sold. You can still get it here. http://www.exoticblanks.com/Glues-and-Epoxies/ I don't use much CA, A bottle will last me years. I keep it in the refrigerator. will try the Starbond when my bottle runs out Re: CA glue question - Arlin Eastman - 09-10-2015 Angus I think including Black they have pink and 2 other colors. I also wanted to get black so it will show in-between the cracks or I should say the seams. I think it would really highlight the wood like that. Arlin Re: CA glue question - Angus - 09-10-2015 be prepared Arlin, the black is double the cost of clear. A 16 oz bottle of black is $60.00 Re: CA glue question - Dusty Workshop - 09-10-2015 Woodshop said: I door see this product on that website? I searched "ez bond" and it only found CA products. Re: CA glue question - Arlin Eastman - 09-10-2015 Yah I forgot about that but it is still cheaper then by the 2 or 3 oz bottles from others. I would use Medium CA clue and add black India ink to change it instead. Arlin Re: CA glue question - Arlin Eastman - 09-10-2015 Don The company you mentioned there thin CA viscosity is only at 50 cps but Starbond is 2 or 3 cps which is soooo much better at penetrating especially if you use inlayed metals or other things. http://www.exoticblanks.com/E-Z-Bond-16-oz.-Thin-CA-50-CPS-Orange-Label.html To this http://www.starbond.com/ Plus it comes with 4 small plastic bottles with lids and the small flexible tips that allow very good delivery Arlin |
