age of powermatic 66 - Jeff Eichelberger - 11-03-2015 I have a powermatic 66 saw that is green with a white stripe. the serial number is 3661150 can someone let me know the age please. Jeff Re: age of powermatic 66 - packerguy® - 11-03-2015 1973 is my guess Re: age of powermatic 66 - LarryC - 11-03-2015 It's a 1970: N66-nnnn | 1968—77 | "N" is the units digit of the year, beginning in 1968. "nnnn" is a number. Above from wiki.vintagemachinery.org Re: age of powermatic 66 - Jeff Eichelberger - 11-04-2015 Thank you for the information Jeff Re: age of powermatic 66 - packerguy® - 11-04-2015 LarryC said: Thats correct info, but the first number is a "3".....so its a 197"3"....not sure where your getting 1970. You like is also not related. Probably not important what year exactly.....the 1970 and 1973 machines are identical. So 266 would be 1969 and 366 would be 1970. Of course I'm left handed and don't always think normal so I could be wrong. Re: age of powermatic 66 - skizzo - 11-04-2015 No, for PM's listings, the N starts with the first year of production for that date range. It's the actual year digit, not a counter. So that serial number would be 1973. Re: age of powermatic 66 - LarryC - 11-04-2015 I see, thanks for the clarification Bill. As I figured wrong I'm again... Sorry Packerguy, wasn't trying to diss you. Re: age of powermatic 66 - packerguy® - 11-04-2015 No worries...... I wasnt sure if i missed something in the equation. |
