Repair an Epoxy Bar Top Finish - David G - 11-14-2015

A neighbor has a nice walnut burl coffee table with a thick bar top type finish which I assume is poured epoxy. The finish has several cracks that go completely through the finish, but not into the wood. Any possibility of repairing these cracks or is this a dip, strip and refinish project?

Those two part polyester pour on finishes will laugh at ordinary paint and varnish strippers. Wipe the table top down with rubbing alcohol, allow it to dry and pour another coat. The finish is self-leveling so the cracks should fill flat.

Many thanks. Will give it a try. Worst case, well, it's not my table!

Google "environmental technologies". Check third website for information. I would do a link, but I am using my smart phone, which is smarter than I am
