Granite , North of Atlanta at a reasonable price?? - NorthGaMan - 01-09-2016

Is there such a thing? Also what needs to be done to the cabinets before install? I know my old counter comes off. Do I need to cover top of cabinets with plywood? Anything else needed? I am looking for someone who sells and installs granite.

5/8"s ply if you are using 2cm they say it isn't if you are using 3cm. I was shopping for some today. I can get a kitchen done for less than $300 in this stone here

I am in Duluth so I looked on angies list for you for some of the A listings:

http://andrewsassociates.net/marble-or-granite-supplier/
http://www.mcgranitecountertops.com/
http://www.legacycountertops.com/
Don't know anything about them, but they each have a good number of reviews.

Also this place is right up the road from me. Don't know anything about them either, but guess you could call them up and check on prices.

Granite has become a commodity. Everybody is using CNC fabrication machines so they just program, drop the granite in and walk away until the pieces are finished. I am installing a gigantic kitchen island next weekend and they guy got 15 quotes, all by email and highest to lowest was $350 difference on a ~$5000 job (BIG island, lots of curves, all edges of the granite finished).

Call around and email your stetches to some shops and you will get quotes.
