Slab top....Teaser - DonJuvet - 01-11-2016 I've been working on a Slab table top. Most of what happens is "wet wait" and plan. Let the brain do what it does best. The insides are the cutoff of the outsides of the sister slabs. Booked then placed back in the center. So, here is a teaser as to the progress. I call this a double bookmatch inlay. It will be a glue joint with black accents. This is as close as I could get with a chainsaw. Next up is 36 grit and 2 pencils. I'm hoping for an 063" or less gap. We'll see Ohhh... I'm jazzed Re: Slab top....Teaser - Bob10 - 01-11-2016 You ever push a broom around that place? Looks like it will be great Re: Slab top....Teaser - DonJuvet - 01-11-2016 Only on Tuesday. Dude, I just got done using a chainsaw Re: Slab top....Teaser - MarkSingleton - 01-11-2016 All the years I have used chainsaws, never indoors. Just went on the list. Re: Slab top....Teaser - Wipedout - 01-11-2016 Very cool Don. Can't wait to see it complete Re: Slab top....Teaser - highpi - 01-11-2016 Don, are the majority of your customers corporate or private? Ken Re: Slab top....Teaser - DonJuvet - 01-12-2016 Private Re: Slab top....Teaser - Joel H. - 01-12-2016 That is so cool! "Wet wait" is definitely painful. I'm somewhat surprised your normal customers aren't commercial - the scale is massive . . . . and most assuredly beautiful! Joel Re: Slab top....Teaser - DonJuvet - 01-12-2016 Yup, seems like a lot of what I do is bigger. Next table after this one is a dining table 48" wide x 12' long. Rustic Black Oak with concrete. Industrial Chic look There is a conference table in the "waiting for them" basket. Perhaps in February Re: Slab top....Teaser - bennybmn - 01-12-2016 So did you cut the outside ones to fit around the center one? Or the opposite? Can't wait to see more! |
