Bill

There are all kinds of types and makes of carbide. I really think the person that has the most selection and cheapest is Capt Eddie

You get three of the same cutters for the same price others ask for one.
Also if you look at the site you will find steel bars of both round or square of different sizes too that come with carbide cutters.

If I need an insert I get it from Captain Eddie, with that said I seldom use an insert tool. They have their place but IMO it is a small place.

I'm looking at ordering these myself. Anyone know which one of the Caps cutters replaces the 2" radius SR1 cutter, for the rockler mini pen rougher?

Thanks, Bob

Last night I found these and these. I bought 4 of the square and 2 of the round cutters for just over the cost of two of rocklers, with shipping. They also combined shipping for all of it, which was only $2.25.
Hopefully they work well.

Bob

I think I bought circle inserts from Capt'n Eddie for my (homemade) tools.

For radiused square cutters I use the Byrd Shelix cutterhead inserts.

I find the circle cutter to be fantastic for hollowing green bowls.

Looks like the two are functionally the same, although one is slightly cheaper. Both are a very good price (shipped) for small quantities.

I haven't had the experience using this company ,they carry a nice selection of cutters, the screw for that particular cutter , drill bits and taps to make your own tools. Price seems fair .
