New Jig for the Bench - AgGEM - 03-02-2016 Well worth the time to make these tail & head stocks. Even with the long center, it is quite ridged and aggressive sanding is no problem. I expect applying the finish to the work will be a joy. Ag Re: New Jig for the Bench - Rob Young - 03-02-2016 Yes, but would it work for a right-handed person? Nifty setup. Re: New Jig for the Bench - bennybmn - 03-03-2016 I see you're using a holdfast, but I assume it registers in dog holes too? Looks super handy! I like the work light holding feature too Re: New Jig for the Bench - AgGEM - 03-03-2016 Yes, there are 2 pins in the dog holes. It needs both the pins and hold fasts to work. I have a slotted screw and knob on the movable end. I might drill another dog hole to make it even stronger. If you look closely at the bottom photo, you can see a gap between the bench top and the plywood on the movable stock. A hold fast there would help. I painted the table last night, it was so easy to get around all of the surfaces. Ag |
