Staining and seal coat a deck - Chi Town Tommy - 04-26-2016

I plan on power washing the deck prior to applying a stain and top coat seal. Will it be necessary to allow the wood to dry out for a while before I apply the stain and top seal coat?

Thanks,

Tommy

If you want a good job then yes. I would let it dry at least 72 hours. I power washed a deck for some impatient folks. They were getting ready to re coat before I was done with a solid color stain. I told them to wait but noooo! I re power washed the deck a week later.

Deck stain or seal coat? Pick one not both.

You say deck stain OR seal coat. Why not both?

Thanks,
