Spalted turning blanks - Sawdustd - 05-31-2016

Is there a supplier that offers a variety spalted wood(s) turning blanks? All I've seen offered is Spalted Tamarind.

Pen or bowl blanks?

If you're after pen blanks, consider purchasing a bowl blank and if you have a bandsaw, cutting your own blanks. Almost always way cheaper than purchasing individual pen blanks.

I've purchased exceptionally nice spalted and burl wood from Appalachian Blank Company on EBay. The service has been excellent and the prices, in my opinion, reasonable for the quality of their wood.

Try this link: http://stores.ebay.com/Appalachian-Blank-Co

You may want to try http://woodbarter.com/
If you don't see any for sale which meets your needs just post what you are looking for in the "want to buy".
Of course if you have items others may want you can try to barter also.

Try North Woods Figured Wood.

If you lived closer, you could just stop by here.
I have tons of turning blanks, but the cost of shipping is beyond foolish and turns off so many people that I don't even bother to advertise....that and having to take 25 pictures of a $5 super spalted blank doesn't make any sense to me either.

Scott (cheap is good, but if I have to waste half a day) B

Scott,
Well sugar! I should have asked the question in April when I was in your neck of the woods. Will send you a PM.
