a little project - goaliedad - 07-06-2016 " /> Goalie is the Athletic Trainer for the Rapid City Rush hockey team- this clock, and one out of oak, will be given as gifts to a couple people that have gone out of their way to support a poor Michigan guy living in South Dakota. He really loves the area, and is excited to start his 3rd season with the team this fall. Goalie Mom is very excited that he will be visiting the end of the month. Re: a little project - Dumb_Polack - 07-06-2016 Is that the wordsmith mantle clock from about 10+ years ago? I built about 5 of them.....funny but the one I built for us still is in the shop awaiting the movements. Been about 10yrs now....can't rush these things 😉 Re: a little project - goaliedad - 07-06-2016 A good eye- yes it is the Woodsmith plan. May be from MIRE than 10 years ago. First one I built was curly maple. Then I made several from oak- gifts for coaches and other team folks as Goalie was playing. Re: a little project - skypn - 07-07-2016 Really nice work. does the front open, or is it sealed? Re: a little project - goaliedad - 07-07-2016 The front is seal it's a battery-operated clock motor which is accessible through the back Re: a little project - jteneyck - 07-07-2016 Very nice. I remember that Woodsmith project. I built a couple of them for X-max presents soon after those plans came out and they were very well received. The drawer is functional in the plans, and that's how I built mine. The battery for the clock is integral with the clock movement. John Re: a little project - goaliedad - 07-07-2016 The drawer us functional in mine as well. Re: a little project - Window Guy - 07-08-2016 Very , , I like it great job. Steve |
