Slow Drying - Willyou - 07-16-2016 I have just acquired these very nice pieces of live edge juniper. " /> They are about 1" thick and they are quite green. So, I will need to dry them before use. I can already see signs of cracking in and around the knots. I assume, to minimize the cracking, I need to dry them slowly. Will coating them with something like Anchor Seal help with this? Will doing this have an adverse on finishing later? Any recommendations? Re: Slow Drying - alnandy - 07-17-2016 Anchorseal over the knots and on the ends. Sticker and put a cinderblock or two on top to keep them flat RE: Slow Drying - Willyou - 07-21-2016 Quote:Anchorseal over the knots and on the ends. OK. Got some on order. Ends won't be a problem. They will likely be cut off. However, if I coat the knots, will the AnchorSeal have any effects on a later finish? Will it completely wash off with thinner or other product? |
