Blast Gates - AgGEM - 09-19-2016 Please recommend a good gate for 2" PVC plumbing. Shopvac prime mover with Dust Deputy. Gates will be inside a cabinet so I need to be able to attach a push - pull rod to them. Happy to make my own too. Ag RE: Blast Gates - carwashguy - 09-19-2016 I would try one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Valterra-T1002VPM-Bladex-Waste-Handle/dp/B000BGHY3E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474295189&sr=8-1&keywords=2%22+RV+waste+valve You can attach a longer pull rod if you need more length. RE: Blast Gates - woodhead - 09-19-2016 Ball valve? .... Shrug? Al RE: Blast Gates - AgGEM - 09-19-2016 (09-19-2016, 03:54 PM)woodhead Wrote: Ball valve? Schazamm....There is an idea.... Ag RE: Blast Gates - Stytooner - 09-20-2016 Those are nice. I was thinking it was a good price at first, but you have to add two flanges to them which does bring the cost up. Blast gates are something that guys can easily make themselves. If I only needed just a few, I would probably buy them. If I needed a bunch of them, I would setup jigs and fixtures to help produce them and make a large batch of them. More than I currently needed to have some spares or for future needs. Lots of different materials and designs available. RE: Blast Gates - sweensdv2 - 09-20-2016 (09-19-2016, 04:35 PM)AgGEM Wrote: Schazamm....There is an idea.... If you go that route I recommend you use a full port valve. Here's one example, http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200336735_200336735 RE: Blast Gates - DieselDennis - 09-20-2016 (09-20-2016, 09:39 AM)sweensdv2 Wrote: If you go that route I recommend you use a full port valve. Here's one example, http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200336735_200336735 What would be wrong with a regular 2" PVC ball valve? It's opens up fully, or at least as big as the inside of 2" PVC pipe. $6 at the BORG. May have to make your own extension for the handle. RE: Blast Gates - Stytooner - 09-20-2016 Nothing wrong with those either, but for something this small, it is hard to argue against these. http://www.homedepot.com/p/POWERTEC-2-1-2-in-Aluminum-Blast-Gate-for-Vacuum-Dust-Collector-70134/206856975?cm_mmc=Shopping%7cG%7cBase%7cPLA%7cD25T%7cPowerTools&gclid=CKG0_Y7Mns8CFUlahgodQIMI0Q&gclsrc=aw.ds They are 2.5", but I would think a 2" will fit just inside with a gasket. What is the nominal size for 2" pvc? It's actually bigger, right? RE: Blast Gates - EdL - 09-20-2016 I'm with Lee, if the 2" aren't the "full flow" type, get 2 1/2 and bush it down.
