Show me your... Tape dispensers! - bennybmn - 10-20-2016

I know, super exciting, right?
I recently watched this video about making a wall or bench mounted dispenser for various widths of blue tape. I like it, but I want something bigger, and I probably wouldn't do the plywood puck part... Just a large dowel. Right now, I have a paper towel holder with a bunch of rolls of tape on it (blue, duct, etc). It works as an easily accessible storage location, but I really have to remove the roll to get a good piece, and that involves unhooking one end of the rod and removing half the rolls to get to the one I want. Has anyone built one? I'm thinking something with a hack saw blade as a cutter. Having one rod to support them all wouldn't be a big deal if it worked well, but individually replaceable rolls would be super sweet.
Thanks, all!

No pictures.  Mine is about the size of a paper towel rack with 1 1/4" dowel.  It worked ok then I added a 2" cardboard tube and that made a big difference.  I like your idea of adding the saw blade.  In fact that might be the project for today.

Does this count?

Seriously, I made a really good tape dispenser for the shop.  No pictures but it is an open box with four sides and no top or bottom.  About 12" long and 5" deep.  It is attached to the wall by one of the long sides.  At the two short ends are U-shaped slots that a piece of PVC sits in.  The different rolls of tape all slide onto the PVC pipe.  There is an old hacksaw blade along the front edge of the box that cuts the tape.  Works great and holds Duck tape, carpet tape, and masking tape.

I agree it looks nice. It's from Wood magazine issue 164 (Sept. 2005) page 12.
I may have to add it to my todo list.

Thanks for the replies guys! I like the square center portion idea of this one. Eliminates all that circle cutting...  I like the one with the individually removable sections too. Great food for thought!

To Benny and the others, thank you.  I needed a project and your ideas inspired to build a new dispenser to work on my dove tail skills.
