Cuts on the pull because I can't make it starting on the push stroke.

Curious looking, for sure. But it looks really handy--like it would start a kerf anywhere, anytime. Good job.

I certainly like it. Picked up on your struggles making it work through your 2L site. I need a "start-anywhere" saw.

Looks like a veneer saw.  Are the teeth sharpened as such?

RE: Funny saw - Pedder - 11-10-2016

Hi Rob,

never sharpend a veneer saw.

This ist sharpend on the pullstroke with quite a lot of rake and some fleam.
And 13 tpi, wich is coarse. A veneersaw has 50 tpi or?

Edit: pullstroke!!!

Interesting.

Yes, veneer saws have plenty of teeth.  For modern ultra-thin veneers, 50 tpi is probably great.  For thicker stuff I'd rather have fewer teeth, maybe 14-20 would be about right for veneers in the 1/16" neighborhood.

And the modern saws I've had and played with have nearly 30* rake so the teeth would cut push or pull.  The fleam comes from having them beveled on one or both sides, so that might be considered to be an extreme degree of fleam.

Anywho, just a thought.

Love your Genzebiki, great work!

Could you tell/show me sometingh about the connection between the back and the handle? It's simply inserted or added some kind of glue?

Thanks, Leo
