Finishing a live edge - Big Dave - 12-02-2016

Hi, guys!

I'm working on a live-edge table for a friend and I'd like some input on the best way to finish the actual live edge. The edge has several different "textures", from smooth to split grain to shaggy bark. To be clear, I won't be removing any edge material - it will all be finished - as is.

I've blown out/cleaned the edge as best I can with compressed air & nyln brushes, however I think there is still a fair amount of dirt & dust in the tighter cracks.

I'm leaning toward a water-based satin poly primarily because I feel it will penetrate the crooks & crannies better than oil. But I'm open to suggestions - both in the product and the delivery (spray vs. brush...)

Thanks, Guys!
Dave
