Borrowed a plug cutter set, no instructions.
What rpm do I run a 1/2 diameter cutter at?

Me either, lol. I did a Google search for plug cutter rpm and boom, there it was. I'm keeping that page bookmarked for future reference.

Handy chart. Need that printed and laminated. I have drill and tap charts drill size conversion charts all printed and laminated and in the shop. It's easier than looking it up in the machinists handbook.

Yup - printed a similar chart, put it in a sheet protector and hung it off the back of my drill press. Doesn't disappear and handy enough to get used.

Did the same thing years ago with the WOOD chart. Can't tell you how many times that having it attached to the DP saved me a bunch of time by not having to look up the proper speed for whatever I was doing at the time.

I have one of those $39.95 DP from Harbor Fright(change speeds by moving the belt in two 4 step pulleys).
I made about 150 plugs in oak with the speed set so there was no burning and the speed was fast enough to drill the plug before the 1/8hp motor bogged down.
Kinda find something that works.

Well, I'll 'chime in' also - thanks for the link to the chart! I did a 1-page printout on photographic paper - firm & glossy but quite not laminated - print a little small for my 'old eyes' but will be useful. Dave
