RE: Dozuki Saws - Downwindtracker2 - 03-22-2017 The top saw is an Azebiki .My cousin arranged the use of ex-fishing boat for summer if we painted and tuned it up . We were on the Skeena, near the Alaskan pan handle. My cousin's berthing skill wasn't up to the current, and he put an hole in the side. At the cost of a 26er or two a young boatbuilder repaired it for us. He was native but he had learned his trade from Japanese Canadian boatbuilders. He used that type of saw. A Fein would be used now. You can see where the description in the Lee Valley catalogue comes from. RE: Dozuki Saws - ez-duzit - 03-23-2017 Because of their curved edges, the top two saws can easily begin a cut in the middle of a panel; a very useful feature. |
