Spokeshave Rehab - JimReed@Tallahassee - 03-19-2017

This little orphan spokeshave arrived at my doorstep this week.

It arrived dull and dirty but I can fix that. Otherwise, it looks OK. First step is to remove the stuck blade.

The blade was corroded in place and it took some serious muscle to get it out. Then it was time for a spa treatment for everyone.

I sharpened the bevel.

And polished the back.

A little wax helped the maple (beech?) body perk up.

And now it is pulling nice shavings again.
