Clamp - What is it? - BpB123 - 05-10-2017 I found 4 of these at a recent estate sale ... I can think of a few uses, but wanted to get the thoughts of the forum "brain Trust" on what they are really used for. Thoughts? THANKS! Brian RE: Clamp - What is it? - Bill Holt - 05-10-2017 My guess: clamps mount on the edge of your work bench, 2x4, or any stable surface, forming a bar clamp. RE: Clamp - What is it? - daddo - 05-10-2017 I could have used one or more of those plenty of times to clamp against a solid surface where a C type clamp couldn't be placed around the object. RE: Clamp - What is it? - Steve N - 05-10-2017 These are called Right angle clamps These are called Face Frame clamps Neither of them has a second way to tighten, they merely use friction against the piece you are clamping up too. Both remedy needing a third hand. Only other kind of oppositional clamp I know of? Thats the best I got for you RE: Clamp - What is it? - BpB123 - 05-10-2017 Thanks All! I appreciate your inputs Daddo and Bill: Pretty much what I thought/planned on using them for. Steve: Funny, I also got 2 of those Universal 70 Face Frame clamps at the same sale. Thanks Again, -Brian |
