Exterior Foundation Insulation Repair - ewadsm - 05-18-2017 My home has an insulated foundation which consists of what appears to be rigid foam insulation with a stucco like topcoat that is painted the same color as the house. Over the years it has been dinged and damaged by the weed whacker the wheels on the mower and ground movement (settling) around the foundation. I have had no luck repairing the foam underlayment let alone the exterior skim coat. Has anyone successfully repaired this type of thing? If so I would appreciate any guidance you might be willing to provide RE: Exterior Foundation Insulation Repair - Lynden - 05-18-2017 Try searching for "how to parge rigid foam foundation insulation" or something similar to see if you can find some information on how to make repairs. how to parge a styrofoam foundation https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=repairing+parging+over+foam&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8#q=repairing+a+rigid+foam+foundation RE: Exterior Foundation Insulation Repair - Cooler - 05-19-2017 They call that stuff "synthetic stucco" and there are repair kits for that sort of thing: https://www.google.com/search?q=synthetic+stucco+repair&rlz=1C1RXDB_enUS585US585&oq=synthetic+stucco&aqs=chrome.3.69i57j0l5.13232j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 RE: Exterior Foundation Insulation Repair - Robert Adams - 05-19-2017 Is it foam applied to the foundation then coated or is it the stuff that i see at menards up north that is 3/4 foam with it already applied? Just curious as neither method is done here. RE: Exterior Foundation Insulation Repair - ewadsm - 05-19-2017 Its about 1.5" or 2" rigid foam sheets that are then "skim" coated with some type of thin mortar. I will try to post a picture or two in the next little bit. RE: Exterior Foundation Insulation Repair - Cooler - 05-22-2017 |
