A maple decorative platter. - Steve K - 05-26-2017

This is soft maple, about 12" diameter and 1/8" thick. Turned, burned, and pierced to simulate an open weave basket weave.

That is gorgeous!!!

Fantastic geometry and burning. There is nothing about that that I don't love.

Thank you very much. At this point I haven't considered selling it. It's my plan to submit it for a local art show in a couple of months. The show is for local artisans and in a gallery where I'd like to get my foot in the door. Depending on how it's received I'll go from there.

Steve

The others said it all.  All I can say is your burning is now impeccable.

Greg

If you get to buy it you will have a very nice piece!

Steve,

That is excellent.

I like to consider myself a developing craftsman with aspirations to grow to artisan. I do not have any expectation of ever moving beyond that to artist.

You, sir, are an artist.
