A new spade bit might surprise you. It may be straighter than the run out in your quill and chuck. Router centering pin works well and any size piece of straight round stock can be made into the equivalent in about 5 minutes. Mine has a much finer point than most router pins. Speaking of set up blocks, square steel key stock is available in 12" lengths and a myriad of sizes. It's cheap and more than accurate enough for wood working.
