Sticky, loud interior doors - bennybmn - 07-25-2017 I know I could plane or sand the doors down so they don't stick on the latch side, but I think a lot of the loud noise actually comes from the glossy paint on the face of the door sticking to the glossy pant on the stop itself. So that little 3/8" or whatever strip of paint is almost being sheared as you pop the door open. I think my only option would be to scrape as much paint off the face of the stop as I can and create a slight gap. But I don't want rattling doors, so I can't do that all the way around. Should I paint that little strip matte white or something? Any ideas? Did I explain it well?? RE: Sticky, loud interior doors - fixtureman - 07-25-2017 Try rubbing s little talcum powder on the door stop RE: Sticky, loud interior doors - bennybmn - 07-26-2017 good idea! |
