Pantry Cabinet - Joel H. - 07-31-2017

I may have corrected the problem of the pictures not showing up.  I hope so.

In early June I was visiting my daughter in Jamestown, RI.  She took me to see Vanderbilt's Marble Mansion in Newport, RI.  In the kitchen area they had a cabinet that I assume would have been used for a pantry.  Here it is:

I knew I had to build it.  Here are some progress pics:

The inner unit in poplar:

The red oak face frame with the doors fitted and a side:

The wood was dyed with TransTint Walnut in Blonde Shellac.  Topcoat was Arm-R-Seal.

The dimensions are 55 1/2" wide by 56" tall by 22 1/2" deep.  The wife is putting her larger pots, turkey pan, crock pots, etc. in it.

It was a lot of fun to build.

Nice build. Looks like you did a fantastic job.
Yes

The original, I find it odd it has wheels. Maybe added later? No place to put it now, so it's portable.

The top doors are different sizes, and the filler panels being not being centered is very different.

I can't see the pictures even with a Google account.

I'm trying to download the images/photos.  Sorry.  I'm on a trip, so don't have resources to correct.

I think I corrected the problem of the pictures not showing up.  I'm sure you all will let me know if I failed.

That came out terrific. You got a very nice finish on your red oak!

You either corrected the pic problem, or I am just fortunate.

Awesome job Joel. That hardware screams to me it's a refrigerator, rather than a pantry. You did an excellent job based on photographic eveidence

Take a peek see what you think However as seeing you wouldn't step back in time for where you keep your cold foods, it still has awesome eye appeal, and you could use the interior of it to hold whatever you want to. BTW really trashed versions of that go out on auction around here over 4k most of the time. Even when LOML and i were younger we could never beat the huge bids, and still eat that week. She used to really want one, but turned down offers of me making one, she wanted a beat up one
