I bought 6 when HD was closing them out.  I hated them.  The screw is so fine it takes a long time to clamp them.  The action was not smooth.  I sold them a couple of months ago and bought some 60" Jets at ~$36 each.

Thanks for passing on the word, trying to help. Long ago I bought a LOT of Besse's, and they work just fine, so I don't need any, but I guess after seeing the last response I'd be skeeert to buy heavy if I was interested. If your lurking, and this looks like a good deal, ring out........

Irwin parallel clamps are very poor.  Difficult to use, slip, hard to adjust.   Pay a little more and get Pony, Bessey, or even Jet
