Recommendations for miter gauge - Randy C - 10-31-2017 I have one of the craftsman zip code saws which I like a lot but the miter gauge that came with it is crappy. Can anyone recommend a good reasonably priced miter gauge to replace it with? Thanks RE: Recommendations for miter gauge - brianwelch - 10-31-2017 (10-31-2017, 09:55 AM)Randy C Wrote: I have one of the craftsman zip code saws which I like a lot but the miter gauge that came with it is crappy. Keep your eyes open for an Osborne EB-3 (or similar)...I found one, like new at a garage sale, for $25... so far I have been very pleased with it... http://www.woodworkersjournal.com/eb-3-miter-guide-osbornes-better-way/ RE: Recommendations for miter gauge - BloomingtonMike - 10-31-2017 (10-31-2017, 09:55 AM)Randy C Wrote: I have one of the craftsman zip code saws which I like a lot but the miter gauge that came with it is crappy. Prob not reasonable price but the JDS accu miter is nice. Osborne would be my 2nd choice. Ditto on that Osborne. RE: Recommendations for miter gauge - sweensdv2 - 10-31-2017 You can't go wrong with an Incra 1000SE, https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=incra+1000SE , or even an Incra V120, https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=incra+V120&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aincra+V120 . RE: Recommendations for miter gauge - Ray Newman - 10-31-2017 Another vote for the Incra 1000SE RE: Recommendations for miter gauge - Cooler - 10-31-2017 I have the miter gage that came with my Delta contractors' saw. It locks tight. On fussy jobs I check for square with a Starrett combination square. As long as it locks tight I'm happy. RE: Recommendations for miter gauge - Bill Holt - 10-31-2017 I have the Incra V27 and the Osborne, use both equally probably. Of course the Incra is much less expensive. If so none of the miters named will work out of the box, you'll have to either use the Sears bar, or have it machined down. Been a long time, so don't have the specs, just not 3/8 tall x 3/4" wide like the rest of the world. If you are just looking for the miter head, either the Kreg, or the Osborne are the best out of the box. Someone said that Incra was finally squaring their heads, but they used to come to you broke, and it was up to you to shim them, that alone makes them bottom of the barrel choice for me. Refuse to pay 100 bux for something, then have to fix it to use it, not happening. |
