Please help me Identify this Wood - ron kanter - 12-15-2017 Harvested near Philadelphia Four photos: rough cut face; partially planed face; end grain; and edges with and without bark. Feels medium dense. Planes very smooth. Attractive grain. 4/4. Thanks [attachment=6373][attachment=6374][attachment=6375][attachment=6376] RE: Please help me Identify this Wood - Stwood_ - 12-15-2017 No pics... Edit. I agree with the cherry. Bark gives it away RE: Please help me Identify this Wood - KingwoodFan1989 - 12-15-2017 To the OP, do you have those photos on your computer? If so, edit your post and select "full edit". Then, look right above where the "post reply", "preview post", and "save as draft" buttons are. You'll see the function where you can attach files. Always works for me. Not sure what happened, but I'm not seeing any photos in your post right now either. RE: Please help me Identify this Wood - ron kanter - 12-15-2017 Sorry for the missing pix. They are up now. RE: Please help me Identify this Wood - packerguy® - 12-15-2017 Cherry RE: Please help me Identify this Wood - Gary G™ - 12-15-2017 Black cherry I think. RE: Please help me Identify this Wood - SteveS - 12-15-2017 Looks like fruit cherry, but also could be plum. RE: Please help me Identify this Wood - KingwoodFan1989 - 12-15-2017 My first guess was American Cherry. Still going with that, but the planed areas look VERY light...the heartwood areas almost look like most Cherry sapwood that I've seen. Here's a page with TONS of Cherry pics: http://www.hobbithouseinc.com/personal/woodpics/cherry,%20american%20black.htm RE: Please help me Identify this Wood - goaliedad - 12-15-2017 Cherry. The bark looks right too RE: Please help me Identify this Wood - badwhiskey - 12-15-2017 I agree with the consensus, it's cherry. |
